There are four different engines available for the SLK, all with one thing in common: they make every drive in your SLK an exhilarating experience. And thanks to the vehicle’s generous 70-litre fuel tank and the range which it makes possible, you can be sure to enjoy every moment of motoring to the full.
SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR
Take for a start the SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR with its output increased by 15 kW (21 hp) to 135 kW (184 hp), which drives the SLK with agility and dynamism and impresses with a restrained but sonorous sound. Its consumption has also been reduced by 12.6 percent.

SLK 280
For even sportier driving, you can choose between two 6-cylinder engines: the SLK 280 and the new, still more temperamental SLK 350 sports engine. The SLK 280 generates an output of 170 kW (231 hp); it comprises of 6-cylinder engine which fascinate with the full sound typical of these engines and deliver more than enough power to provide you with pure driving enjoyment.

SLK 55 AMG
The SLK 55 AMG offers the strongest engine in its segment. It impresses not only with the particularly powerful sound of its naturally aspirated V8 engine but with the constant power delivery of its 265 kW (360 hp) and a phenomenal rated torque of 510 Nm.

The interior of the SLK is the perfect place for enjoying yourself. Awaiting you here is a stylish symbiosis of out-and-out sportiness on the one hand and, on the other, a high degree of space and comfort. The result is a clear enhancement of motoring pleasure. The optional leather appointments allow you to give your SLK an even more exclusive look: you can choose from leather in black, alpaca grey, orient beige or the new colour shade, gull-wing red. And anyone looking for an even greater air of refinement can opt for the luxurious nappa leather appointments: here, the seats are upholstered in finest nappa leather in either black or natural beige, and even the centre armrest is trimmed in soft black nappa, complete with elegant topstitching. Active safety systems
Should you ever find yourself in a critical situation, the intelligent electronics in the SLK will be there to help. If the car is at risk of skidding, the Electronic Stability Program ESP® can brake one or more wheels in a targeted manner as required, helping the driver to stabilise the vehicle again. If necessary the engine power is also reduced as appropriate. The electronic Brake Assist system can recognise emergency braking by the speed with which you apply the brake and instantly builds up the maximum braking force.
The SLK is available as an option with bi-xenon headlamps equipped with headlamp cleaning system, dynamic headlamp range adjustment and cornering light function. The cornering light function integral to the fog lamps is also automatically activated on the appropriate side at a speed of up to 40 km/h when turning or when driving around narrow corners, providing better illumination of the road.
